Each quest has its own objectives, which the questgiver will describe to you and which also can be found in your quest log. These requirements vary widely, but most fall under several basic mechanics. The most common type ask you to kill a set amount of monsters or collect special quest items. There are also escort quests, boss kill quests, delivery quests, and many other types.
